gallianoflix is my personal attempt to curate as much available john galliano runway footage as i can find in one place, arranged so you can binge-watch fashion history the way you would binge-watch netflix.

when the met announced that “john galliano: horizons”, its planned 2027 retrospective of john galliano’s work, would no longer go ahead, i was devastated. i had been incredibly excited to see one of fashion’s most extraordinary runway careers given that kind of institutional treatment.

so, partly in protest i decided i would make my own digital “exhibition”.

all his work from his own label, givenchy, dior. i wanted to study his work chronologically, research the shows as i went but the problem was that all the study material and references were super scattered and hunting them down was not how i wanted to spend my time.

so i took two sources, gods and kings by dana thomas and galliano: spectacular fashion by kerry taylor and combined the commentary with runway video footage that i could find online.

i’m a fashion researcher, writer and a firm believer of democratising runway.

most of what i talk about comes from the idea that runway should not feel intimidating.

you shouldn’t need a fashion degree, an encyclopaedic knowledge of designers or an invitation to paris fashion week to understand runway.

i want more people clicking on it as their choice of entertainment!

gallianoflix is one part of that project.

i’m currently working my way through galliano’s runway career, researching the collections as i go and turning what i find into stories about the clothes, the references, and the cultural moments surrounding them.
